Jetson Thor: how many cameras can each module decode?
Dataset 2026-09-07 · verified 2026-09-07 · last updated September 2026
Maximum simultaneous streams per module at the camera profiles people actually deploy. A = the datasheet publishes this exact point; D = EdgeAIStack pixel-rate estimate against the rated MP/s (⌊MP/s ÷ per-stream MP/s⌋). On Thor the NVDEC/NVENC clock follows the power mode (1.56 GHz at 120 W / 70 W, 1.69 GHz at MAXN) and the datasheet publishes separate decode tables per mode.

Reading the table
- These are hardware decode limits only. On a detection pipeline inference, memory or preprocessing almost always fails first; the Camera Stream Capacity engine checks all six stages and reports which one.
- Class D cells assume roughly linear NVDEC throughput inside the published range. They are not asserted for per-stream rates above the largest published point.
- Counts are per module for 8-bit 4:2:0 main profiles; JetPack or application session caps may be lower.
- Method and confidence rule: methodology. Sources per row: the module pages linked in the first column.
